My recent work starts with encaustic monotypes. The monotypes are created by drawing with encaustic paint on a heated plate of anodized aluminum. Paper is then pressed on the plate to make the print. Some of the resulting work is framed or mounted on panels for display. Other work is cut in pieces, reconfigured, and then “stitched together” using staples. The wax and the staple stitches give movement and shape to the monotype fragments.
